This is a community that has something of the traditional - in
look and feel and style – yet which is very much a part of the
emerging world in its outlook.

We are an intentionally open and affirming, inclusive, diverse
community (regardless of age, educational or economic
background, physical or mental ability, gender, gender identity
or sexual orientation, political affiliation, ethnicity or race).

In worshiping God, we find ourselves spiritually recharged and
better equipped for life.
While we love the Bible, we take it too seriously to take it
literally.
We are convinced that the God whose Spirit inspired the
Bible's authors inspires us still.
“God is Still Speaking”
We are a community that loves both old and new American and
International music.
We are progressive in our theology – So we follow Jesus in his
bottom line 3 loves: Love God, Love your Neighbor (including
your enemy!) as you Love Yourself.

First Congregational
We believe that, for us, Jesus Christ is the way to God  At the same time, we believe that God has many other
religious and spiritual paths by which people are called to faith. So we don’t judge others and we welcome
people who are seeking and questioning.
We believe science (including evolution) is a gift and don’t view it as an enemy of faith!
We believe God gave us our brains – so we don’t check them at the door of the church!
We believe in lifelong learning – always eager to be teachable.

Like our spiritual ancestors we are pilgrims,
We see ourselves as on the way, rather than as people who have “arrived.”
Our shorthand self-description:
“Journeying together with the Still-Speaking God.”
We are people who believe in putting our faith into action.
We care about others who are hungry and hurting.
We believe we are responsible to care for our environment.
We believe we can choose to help God by helping others on the way, or to be in the way.

I extend this personal invitation to you to come and see for yourself.
Experience worship with us.
Meet some people.
Have a cup of coffee or tea or punch.
Attend a class or an event.
Notice the diversity of people. Notice the warmth.
Notice the commitment to making a difference in the world.
Especially notice that you’re welcome to keep coming back. I hope you will!

We are a part of the progressive United Church of Christ family.
