What We Believe

We come from many paths to love and accept one another as God loves us, connect in faith and service, and stand up for inclusion and justice.

We are a diverse, progressive Christian community whose faith compels us to love others unconditionally as Jesus did.  Valuing, respecting and serving all cultures, languages and traditions, we stand in solidarity with those whose voices are not heard.  Partnering with other communities, we speak truth to power, taking risks in seeking justice for everyone.

We are a safe, sacred center of spiritual nourishment and growth where all can experience God’s grace, love and peace.  Our congregation’s cherished 100+ year history is the foundation of our future as freethinkers.  We know we do not have all the answers. We have questions and we seek truth.

Wherever you are on life's journey, YOU are welcome here!

OUR BELIEFS

  • We believe in God's continuing testament. This is why we are committed to hearing God's ancient story as it relates to this contemporary moment.

  • We advocate justice for all. Our congregation extends hospitality as a sign of God's inclusive love.

  • We teach that evangelism — offering bread to those in search of it — is God's mission.

  • Our perspective is global, not provincial. We work with — not against — people of other faiths. Why? Because God is still speaking.

OUR FAITH IS 2,000 YEARS OLD. OUR THINKING IS NOT.
