As First Church’s desire is to be an inclusive community for all, including children and families, our worship space must reflect the beautifully diverse needs of all persons and of all ages.

Emergency Planning Training
Emergency Planning Team is planning a series of MINI-EMERGENCY RESPONSE sessions. We are inviting you to join in. If you have expertise in any of these areas and would like to help out, please let Max, Becky, David, or Deni know. We’d love to work with you! You see, being prepared in case of an emergency is the responsibility of all of us. If you have expertise, please share it. If you have a question about how to respond in an emergency, please ask! Maybe there is a mini-session that still needs to be named and designed. Here are the sessions that are planned so far. They are intended to be 30-minute sessions that are held right after Sunday church service – enough time to still help with the sandwich-making – and yet, time enough to learn and practice some emergency techniques.

Lent Book Study
This year, we’re letting the Gospel of Luke be our guide. In both worship and study, we will explore several familiar stories—the Good Samaritan, Mary and Martha, the fruitless fig tree, the Lost Sheep, Zacchaeus, and more. Many of these stories are well-known in both sacred and secular imagination and hold significance in pop culture, church history, politics, and everything in between.
